This shelter operates under the direction of a Shelter coordinator and dedicated volunteers. It depends on the support of the community through volunteers and donations in all forms. The costs can get quite considerable for food, medicine and supplies and operating costs the shelter requires to stay functioning. Monetary and supply donations are critical in the perpetual running of the shelter.
The Shelter
The Frances Halbrook Hensley Animal Shelter is a 501 (c) 3 Shelter located in Lexington, Tennessee. Established in 2016, this Shelter was the vision and legacy of the late Frances H. Hensley who was an avid animal lover. Mrs. Frances' love for animals didn't stop with her two little dogs. She thought of all abandoned and abused dogs and cats. She left her estate to build the animal shelter.
Mission Statement:
It is the mission of the Frances Halbrook Hensley Animal Shelter to give abandoned and neglected animals in our community the care and love they desire while offering every opportunity possible to find the forever family they deserve.
